Mysteries of the Great Airship Age
This book by Jacques Bergier and the editors of INFO (International Fortean Organization) is a compilation of multiple accounts of strange creatures and mysterious fortean phenomenon from odd artifacts & unusual animal encounters to reports of aliens & UFOs. In “Part Two: “Extraterrestrial Beings Among Us”, there is a report called “Mysteries of the Great Airship Age” by Lyle Gaulding about the airship mystery from the late 1800’s into the 1910’s, 1920’s, and 1930’s. In this section it describes LTA (Lighter-Than-Air) technology with a few events from the “Balloon Era” and the “Great Airship Flap”, it also includes a paragraph about the legend from Aurora, Texas. Gaulding gives a brief summary of the incident while including that the pilot was “nonhuman”. This article by Lyle Gaulding was originally published in The Info Journal: Science and the Unknown in 1967.
“Perhaps the most amusing story to come from the 1897 [airship] sightings was reported in the Dallas Morning News for April 19, 1897.”
